CELEBRATE NATIONAL CELIAC DISEASE AWARENESS DAY AT UNO'S

Uno's offers an extensive gluten-free menu

BOSTON, MASS., September 13, 2011 - Unos, the casual dining restaurant with a deep focus on both indulgent and nutritious and delicious menu options, wants to remind customers, especially today, National Celiac Disease Awareness Day, that they offer a very extensive gluten-free menu.

Uno's began offering gluten-free menu items in 2006, long before it was popular, to help alleviate the stress of eating out for those with celiac disease. Their menu now consists of 40 gluten-free items including entrees, sides, desserts and beverages.

Guests with celiac disease can snack on sides like steamed or roasted seasonal veggies and red bliss mashed potatoes or warm up with spicy chili and Cuban black bean and lentil soups. There is a wide selection of entrée choices with all different kinds of proteins - New York strip or top sirloin steaks, the delicious and nutritious lemon basil salmon with all-natural salmon from the Faroe Islands, chicken tikka masala with whole-grain brown rice, Ocean Spray® sweetened dried cranberries and roasted vegetables. Fresh salads are also available, as are classics like the Uno burger and a variety of pizzas made with a thin gluten-free crust.

Meals can be enjoyed with frozen smoothies and freezers, or even gluten-free beer. Desserts are available for the final touch of a gluten-free meal with Uno's classic ice cream sundae or their famous Bananas Foster, also available in a mini size.

National Celiac Awareness Day was started in 2006 when the U.S. Senate passed the Celiac Awareness Day Resolution, honoring Samuel Gee who is credited with being the first person to recognize the link between Celiac Disease and diet. May is also recognized as Celiac Awareness Month.
