'FALL OF SURPRISES'
Boston, MA, October 5, 2009 - As the leaves fall and the weather cools, Uno Chicago Grill® is celebrating the flavors of fall with a limited-time-only menu packed with delicious flavors such as pumpkin spice and cranberry. UNO's® fall menu has plenty of surprises for your taste buds, perfect to warm you from the inside out, beginning October 6.
The menu starts with UNO's artisanal Kabocha Pumpkin Soup, made from Kabocha pumpkin squash that is grown especially for UNO each year. The taste is an infusion of pumpkin and sweet potato combined with Ocean Spray® Sweetened Dried Cranberries, which add color and a touch of sweetness to the dish. Or, try the Avocado Egg Roll, which includes fresh diced avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, cilantro and lime juice all wrapped up in an egg roll. It is served with a side of tangy/sweet tamarind cashew dipping sauce with a touch of honey, a dose of vinegar and chopped cilantro to provide a tasty counterpoint.
If you're looking for something lighter but with a huge explosion of taste, try the Power Salad with Goji Mix and Ocean Spray® Sweetened Dried Cranberries. This healthy, 420-calorie dish, with eight grams of fiber and only two grams of saturated fat, combines a colorful mix of spinach, sliced chicken breast, plum tomatoes, carrots, feta, red grapes, Goji berries, Thompson raisins, soy nuts, almonds, pepitas and Ocean Spray® Sweetened Dried Cranberries. Another healthy option is the All-natural, Five-Grain Crust, Harvest Vegetable Flatbread, which provides 15 grams of fiber, thanks mostly to its whole wheat, toasted wheat germ, oat bran, sesame seed and ground flax seed crust.
And, for comfort food at its most delicious, UNO has you covered with its Barbecue Short Rib Sliders. These are filled to the brim with pulled barbecue beef short ribs and a slice of melted one-year-old Cabot Cheddar on sesame rolls. Other tasty options include the Barbecue Short Rib Sandwich, the big brother of the sliders, and the Boneless Beef Short Ribs with Fresh Pappardelle Pasta, with beef short ribs that are slow roasted for five hours and then tossed with fresh herb-roasted vegetables, mushrooms and UNO's own rich Chianti sauce. As Herman Melville stated in Moby Dick, "If you can get nothing better out of the world, get a good dinner out of it at least."
Since UNO is known for its deep-dish pizza, there is also a guest favorite: Numero Uno, a comfort food option that can't be beat.
"Our deep dish includes the works: sausage, pepperoni, onions, peppers, mushrooms and our unique chunky tomato sauce topped with mozzarella and grated Romano," notes Chris Gatto, executive chef, Uno Chicago Grill.
