Uno Chicago Grill® Named Best Recession Restaurant Deal by WalletPop.com Offers Money-Saving Tips for Dining Out

BOSTON, MA, November 21, 2008 - Uno Chicago Grill® was named among the top ten casual dining chains considered "Best Recession Restaurant Deals" by AOL's WalletPop.com, which is a tool to help consumers mange their money better.

The article focuses on chains that are attracting customers with recession specials, and links to Uno's® five tips for dining out economically.

"One look at the headlines tells us how tough it is today. At Uno Chicago Grill, we want to be responsive to the time and money challenges that our guests are facing. We're doing that by creating options that help our guests reclaim some of their leisure time and enjoy dining out for less," says Richard Hendrie, senior vice president of Uno Chicago Grill.

The article notes that, "Uno's main cheapies are on the appetizer and dessert menus, but the happy-hour appetizers can easily be linked together as a sampling plate to form a full meal for under $5."

Following are the five tips:

Tip #1: Try Eating in the Lounge or Bar Area

Many restaurants offer special smaller-portion menu items in the bar area. This serves two purposes: it creates a low-cost dining option while also helping to accommodate guests who may be too busy to enjoy a typical lunch or dinner hour.

Most locations have designated the Snack Hours between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing, Sunday through Friday.

Tip #2: Enjoy your "Just Desserts"

Dining out doesn't have to mean a full dinner. Why not treat yourself to dessert and/or a specialty coffee? More and more restaurants are offering dessert specials. Many restaurants now offer lunch specials that feature smaller portions with a quick turnaround, which works for those pressed for time, while helping consumers save money.
