Man of the Year and Former Outback Steakhouse Operator to Open Five Uno Chicago Grill® Locations in California

BOSTON, MA, April 18, 2008 - While restaurant industry research firm Technomic recently tracked a nationwide slowdown in chain restaurant growth, Uno Chicago Grill® is bucking that trend with the announcement of five new restaurants in California to be situated in the Fresno and Bakersfield areas. Uno Chicago Grill's newest franchise partner, Paul Daley, along with his son, Scott Daley, will head up U Limited Partnerships, based in Tulare, California, the parent company of the new franchises.

As several notable national restaurants announce delays in their plans for growth, Uno Chicago Grill has signed several recent franchise agreements that will deliver 30 new restaurants over the next five years in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, and Virginia.

Paul Daley, owner of Daley Enterprises, a construction company in Tulare, and principal of U Limited Partnerships, was recently honored as Tulare's Man of the Year. Scott Daley is a former Outback Steakhouse operator and brings extensive experience running successful chain restaurants.

Uno Chicago Grill has had some recent notable success in California with two Uno® franchise locations in Antioch and Modesto, the latter of which had a record opening for the company.

Each of the new units will mark a significant expansion into the California market and will feature "Uno Plus" concepts first introduced in the Swampscott, Massachusetts and Winter Garden, Florida locations last fall. Uno Plus enhancements include upgraded, experiential graphics and modern building design as their most notable features, as well as an emphasis on staff training, hospitality and service refinements. In addition the franchise partner plans to add energy saving elements in the design w/ SIP wall and roof panels, high SEER air conditioning, PV solar panels, and other energy saving features in an effort to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
